Alaska writes its own health standards. They are published as Alaska Content Standards: Skills For A Healthy Life, adopted 2006 and are not a version of a national framework. Every one is matched to a national standard.

    A student who meets the content standard should: understand that a person's well-being is the integration of health knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors;

  • S2475095K–6

    A student who meets the content standard should: understand how the human body is affected by behaviors related to eating habits, physical fitness, personal hygiene, harmful substances, safety, and environmental conditions;

  • S2475096K–6

    A student who meets the content standard should: understand and identify the causes, preventions, and treatments for diseases, disorders, injuries, and addictions;

  • S2475097K–6

    A student who meets the content standard should: recognize patterns of abuse directed at self or others and understand how to break these patterns;

    A student who meets the content standard should: use knowledge and skills to promote the well-being of the family;

    A student who meets the content standard should: use knowledge and skills related to physical fitness, consumer health, independent living, and career choices to contribute to well-being;
