Delaware K–6 social-emotional learning standards

Delaware writes its own social-emotional learning standards. They are published as Delaware K–12 Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Competencies, adopted 2020 and are not a version of a national framework. Every one is matched to a national standard.

168 K-6 SEL performance indicators extracted from Delaware's own 2020 K-12 SEL Competencies guide. NOTATION, declared: Delaware codes its 15 benchmarks (1A-5B) but not the individual indicators; the emitted code `1A.K-2.1` concatenates Delaware's benchmark code, the grade-band label, and a sequential index within (benchmark, band). The benchmark code is Delaware's; the band token and index are ours, added so importKey does not collapse indicators a benchmark reissues across bands (the California-health / DC-sel shape). Bands map K-2 -> 'K–2', 3-5 -> '3–5', 6-8 -> '6'; 9-12 and Adult are out of K-6 scope. METHOD: poppler `pdftotext -layout` renders both of the guide's two renderings cleanly (the 2026-07 defer's substituting-font blocker was a pdfjs artifact, not a document defect). BAND from the by-grade-band page headers, BENCHMARK from the by-benchmark page headers, joined on indicator text — each rendering supplying only the axis it prints unambiguously. Two 6-8 indicators are dual-listed under two benchmarks each in Delaware's own document (1D&2A; 4B&4C) and appear twice in the grid, so each is emitted once per benchmark. Verified 167/168 verbatim across the two renderings; both total 272 indicators across all bands.
