District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) and the DC State Board of Education. Social studies is the Washington, DC K-12 Social Studies Standards, adopted by unanimous State Board vote on 2023-06-21. Art and music are the DC Arts Education Learning Standards (adopted 2008-05-21), health is the DC Health Education Standards (2016), and SEL is the DC K-Adult Social and Emotional Learning Standards (2024), all published at osse.dc.gov. Mathematics, English language arts and science are the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards, which the District adopted verbatim (July 2010 and December 2013) and does not republish. Standard text is verbatim; art codes carry a derived discipline prefix (DA/TH/VA) noted in the manifest.
