Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) / Kentucky Board of Education. The Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) are adopted by administrative regulation in 704 KAR Chapter 8, one regulation per subject (8:020 Reading and Writing, 8:030 Health Education, 8:040 Mathematics, 8:060 Social Studies, 8:090 Technology, 8:120 Science, 8:130 Visual and Performing Arts). Standard text is stored verbatim. Math and Reading & Writing are Kentucky's own revisions of the Common Core State Standards (KY-prefixed and reworded); Science is Kentucky's adaptation of NGSS (grade-6 = the NGSS middle-school band, regraded, with a few KY edits); Social Studies is Kentucky's own inquiry/discipline standards; Health is organized under the eight NHES standards.
